ASTHO Releases Two Reports on State Health Preparedness
Type: News
The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) have released two reports: States of Preparedness: Health Agency Progress 2006; and State Mobilization of Health Personnel During the 2005 Hurricanes.
States of Preparedness: Health Agency Progress 2006 provides a sampling of how health agencies in several states have used their preparedness funds to increase the safety of communities to rapidly identify and respond to new threats and improve their preparation for future emergencies based on lessons learned from exercises and real-life events.
State Mobilization of Health Personnel During the 2005 Hurricanes builds on the ASTHO list of EMAC suggestions from state health agencies based primarily on state experiences during the 2004 hurricane response and the 2004 EMAC After Action Report.
