6th National Seismic Conference on Bridges and Highways Call for Abstracts

Sponsored by Transportation Research Board (TRB), South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), MultidisciplinaryCenter for Earthquake Engineering Research (MCEER), and the American Society of Civil Engineers Committee on Critical Infrastructure (CCI), this conference is scheduled for July 27Â?30, 2008 in Charleston, SC. The Technical Committee is soliciting abstracts of papers that can help others understand and mitigate damage to the nationÂ?s highway infrastructure from earthquakes and other natural hazards (e.g. hurricanes). Papers will be judged and selected on merit for presentation during plenary sessions, technical sessions grouped according to topic, and an interactive poster exhibit. It is anticipated that 65 papers will be selected for oral presentation during the conference and approximately 25 papers will be selected for the Poster Session. Two awards will be presented for best papers.Abstracts are due no later than October 1, 2007. The Technical Committee will complete the selection process and notify authors of acceptance by December 15, 2007.
