The TISP Annual Award for Distinguished Leadership in Critical Infrastructure Resilience recognizes the exceptional leadership of an individual who has made a significant and lasting contribution to Critical Infrastructure Resilience. Two awards will be presented each year, one for outstanding contributions in the public sector and one in private industry.

DEFINITIONS
"Critical Infrastructure" includes systems, facilities, and assets so vital that if destroyed or incapacitated would disrupt security, the economy, public health, safety, or welfare of the public. Critical infrastructure may cross political boundaries and may be built (such as structures, energy, water, transportation, and communications systems); natural (such as surface or groundwater resources); or virtual (such as cyber, electronic data, and information systems).

"Resilience" refers to the capability to prevent or protect against significant, multihazard threats and incidents, and to expeditiously recover and reconstitute critical services with minimum damage to public safety and health, the economy, and national security.

AWARD CRITERIA
Common Criteria
Nominee must have demonstrated exceptional leadership in Critical Infrastructure Resilience (CIR). Exceptional leadership is demonstrated by the widespread effect the recipient's work has had on CIR. An exceptional leader may develop a model of policy, organization, operation, etc. that other organizations voluntarily adopt and adapt. The contributions of the recipient should have moved the CIR state-of-the-art forward, as a lasting milestone contribution.

Public Sector Nominee
Nominee must have made significant CIR contributions in one or more of the following:

• Development of government policy related to CIR
• Development of government programs related to CIR
• Leading legislation and/or regulation regarding CIR
• Other government CIR initiatives

Private Industry Nominee
Nominee must have made significant contributions in CIR in one or more of the following:

• Development or application of goods and services that improve CIR state-of-the-art
• Development of operations that improve CIR state-of-the-art
• Development of a business model for improved CIR that is widely adopted
• Other CIR initiatives
